From Brad

To whom it may concern: As a native Oregonian, I've been stunned by many of the activities the City of Portland has either initiated or participated in. I attribute much of it to the fact that so many people have come to Oregon from the East coast and California, bringing their twisted ideas with them and implementing them here. This is based on 40 years of observation; I include only my adult years in this 40, although I made many trips with my family to Portland prior to becoming an adult.
The function of any government is to serve the citizens; the function of a city government is to use funds provided by those citizens to maintain roads, water and sewer lines, and other public infrastructure. It is also charged with maintaining a police and fire department, which are also funded on the back of the citizens.
It seems that the city of Portland needs to be reminded of what their duties are, and that they are indeed 'public servants'. They are to function in accordance with the wishes of the citizens...not vice-versa. The max line and the tram are evidence that the 'public servants' at the city of Portland have little regard for what the citizens want.
Now, those professional public servants in Portland have crossed the line and are in violation of the law. Of course I refer to the 'day labor center' that the city has arranged and paid for at the citizens expense. The entire country is overwhelmed by illegal aliens crowding our schools, hospitals and public services intended for the citizens of this country. By their actions, the city of Portland is encouraging more illegal aliens to come to this State. My own feelings are that any city employee/official that voted in favor of this most recent fiasco should at the very least be terminated, and should also have legal charges brought against them.
