From Leslie

I'm in full agreement with Victoria Taff about the illegal jobs center that has been established for illegal aliens. I work with a number of alien workers and yes, they are wonderful people who work hard. There is no easy answer to the immigration issue this country is facing, but we must face it. The real crux of the matter is, we have laws in this country and they are for all citizens to obey. The City Counsel of Portland is not above the law and it is a slap in the face of every Portlander to take our hard earned money and spend it on something that is, in fact, illegal.

I'm getting extremely tired of hearing about the City Counsel and all the "great" ideas that time is being spent on instead of dealing with the basic needs of this city. That includes renaming streets, by the way. The Counsel is trying so hard to be creative and innovative and guess what? That is not what the citizens of Portland want. We want the city run in an effective, fiscally sound way. So please, stop doing things behind closed doors without citizen input, when it is called for.

Who am I? A life long Portlander with web feet and a lot of voting years left.

Leslie
